is an extraordinary place for any tourist to spend his vacation, because of the
sights: old forests, a fishing pool and the Lapus River.
Our commune is an old romanian habitation that existed long before it's testification
in 1405, when it is mentioned for the first time under the name of "Zakalasfalwa".
At that time it belonged to the domain of the Chioar.
In 1566 the village was known as Zakalofalw, in 1603 as Szakalosfalwa, in 1639 as Szakallosffalwa,
in 1733 as Szakallosfalw, in 1750 as Szekeleseni, in 1760-1762 as Szakalasfalwa,
in 1850 as Szeckeleseny, and finally, in 1854 as Szackallosfalwa, Sacalaseni.
Sacalaseni belonged to the domain of Chioar. In 1848 it was the heart of the romanian's rebellion.
At that time, a greco-catholic church and a post office, existed here.

and in West with Coltau.

Our commune's villages are older than their first testification, fact also proven
by old archaeological remains that can be found in the area.
Villages Sacalaseni and Coas were first mentioned around
year 1405, and Coruia was first mentioned in year 1385.
Although our commune is a rural habitation, our leaders have always tried to improve the way of living of the inhabitants.
So, we are proud that we have most of the utilities we need: electrical power, methane and a water system.
Besides all that, Sacalaseni village also has a sewer system wich will be extended soon.
